Welcome to the online information resource of Hudson County Community College's 2019 Commencement. Here you will find a wealth of logistical information, helpful tips, and background material.
Commencement for 2019 will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Newark, NJ.
The 2019 Commencement speaker will be New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. The 2019 Heritage Award will be announced at a later date.
Important Commencement Information for the Class of 2019
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from Hudson County Community College! The Commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at NJPAC. If you plan to participate in the Commencement ceremony, please carefully note the following:Guest Tickets
Each graduating student will receive three (3) tickets. Each ticket admits one person – please be advised that tickets are required for small children, including infants. Graduates will not need tickets, as their caps and gowns will gain entry into the venue. Tickets are free of charge.

If you or a guest will need any special accommodations, such as a ramp to the stage or handicapped-accessible seating, please be advised that NJPAC is wheelchair accessible. If you or any of your guests have limited mobility or any special requirements, please let us know ahead of time by contacting the HCCC Office of Disability Support Services at (201) 360-4157 or firstname.lastname@example.org.PhotographyGraduation Portraits will take place in April and May.
Please note that all sittings are by appointment only. It is free to take your picture for the yearbook. The purchase of photo packages is each student’s responsibility. Students will receive email to their HCCC student accounts with a link to register.
Commencement photos will be taken before and throughout the ceremony may be viewed several days after the ceremony; a link for the gallery will be provided at a later date. There is no guarantee that there will be individual pictures of each graduate.
Legacy Photographics [www.legacyphoto.com] will take photographs of each graduate as they shake hands with the President and as they exit the stage. There is no obligation to purchase pictures and each graduate will receive an email proof within 48 hours of the ceremony. For more information, call 1.800.447.2550 or visit www.legacyphoto.com.
Because no rehearsal is scheduled for Commencement, it is very important for graduates to report to NJPAC by 4 p.m. on May 30, 2019. (Use the entrance closest to Nico Kitchen & Bar). Doors will open for all guests at 5:30 p.m. for general admission seating. Guests should be in their seats no later than 5:45 p.m. so that they may view the academic procession, which begins promptly at 6 p.m. Please refrain from bringing valuables with you (e.g., purses, cameras, jackets, etc.) as no storage area will be designated for the ceremony.
Getting to NJPAC
Transportation will be provided to and from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark for graduates, faculty and staff of the College as well as family members. Please be advised that in order to board the bus:

Commencement 2019 student regalia will be made available at the Graduate Salutes on April 24 (North Hudson Campus) and May 2 (Journal Square Campus), and will be available at the Journal Square Bookstore following these dates. Pre-ordering is not necessary.

Please do not wait until the last minute to pick up your Commencement regalia, to ensure that your required size will be available. There will be limited Commencement regalia sets available for purchase at the ceremony. We recommend that you press the gown with an iron before the ceremony. Once on the site, find your name from the dropdown menu and confirm the information. Your name may be listed more than once, so please make sure you review the information to ensure that it is correct before you confirm. If you have not ordered regalia in the past, select “New Faculty Member” and enter your information.If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Eric D. Martin, Store Manager, HCCC Bookstore, at (201)-360-4390.The deadline for orders is Thursday, April 18.Because the regalia are rentals, all must be returned to the Campus Store as soon as possible. Representatives from the store will be in the VIP Room at NJPAC for a short time after the Commencement ceremony. You may drop off your regalia at that time.

Ceremony Decorum & Courtesy
Please note that out of respect to fellow graduates, students who participate in Hudson County Community College’s Commencement ceremony are expected to be present for the entire ceremony and will not be allowed to depart before the recessional. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
