    • Hudson County Community College’s 44th Annual Commencement

      HCCC’s December 2020 Virtual Commencement Ceremony is taking place on Thursday, December 10 at 12pm Noon.
      The Virtual Commencement Ceremony will stream live on HCCC’s YouTube Channel @HudsonCountyCollege!

      This Virtual Commencement Celebration will feature speeches from HCCC’s President Dr. Chris Reber, your valedictorians and keynote speaker Past PTK International President, James Elliott! These speeches will be followed by customized slides for each graduate, featuring a picture of the grab, a special message or quote, and the announcement of our graduates. This event will celebrate the graduates of our 2019-2020 academic year and our Fall 2020 graduation applicants.

      While we wish we were celebrating our entire graduating class this December, we still intend, if possible, to celebrate in person in May 2021 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ!

      Graduation Application

      If you have NOT filled out and submitted your Graduation Application, please do so as soon as possible. The Graduation Application can be found HERE.

      It is required that you submit the free Graduation Application. This document collects the name that you wish to be displayed on your diploma and confirms your degree program.

      If you have already graduated, or have a pending graduation for this semester, you can see the updated list of graduation applicants and graduation candidates here.

      If you are unsure if you have submitted your Graduation Application, or for any questions related to this Graduation Application, please email Assistant Registrar Upasana Sethi-Pagan at usethi-pagan@hccc.edu.

      Order Your FREE Cap and Gown!

      Some important information to know:
      HCCC is sponsoring the cost of your graduation cap, gown, stole, and tassel.
      It is very important to make sure that when you log on, you choose the Cap & Gown option to select your free items. If you select your cap and gown


      If you have already graduated and received the Graduation Celebration Package with a cap and tassel, you can choose to order only a gown and stole to complete your set.

      A special commemorative stole, recognizing you as the Resilient Class, has been created for you!

      Additional items, such as a package including a diploma frame, announcements, special commemorative tassels and stoles, and diploma frames can be purchased at the link below for an additional cost.

      We are currently working with the vendor to offer an online option to buy a Class Ring.

      If you are receiving this email, you are eligible to order your cap and gown set! Do not wait! You do not have to complete your courses this semester before ordering your free cap and gown set.

      Please place your free order by Friday, November 13 to guarantee items are delivered by Tuesday, December 8.

      Submit Your Virtual Commencement Ceremony Slide Information!

      During HCCC’s Virtual Commencement Ceremony, recorded speeches will be followed by slides recognizing each graduate.

      You can customize this slide with a photo of yourself and a message. The photo can be of your choosing, including a special memory from your time at HCCC or with your loved ones.

      At the below link, you will also share how pronounce your name, and can upload an audio file of you pronouncing your name. This will avoid any mispronunciation!

      During this customization, you will also RSVP to the Virtual Commencement Ceremony. Please RSVP “yes” if you intend on watching the ceremony when it streams live and would like your slide to be part of the ceremony.

      When the ceremony has concluded, all slides and speeches from the Virtual Commencement Ceremony will be available for you to view and share for a year.

      You can choose to NOT have any personalization to your slide and still be featured in the Virtual Commencement Ceremony. Your Name and Degree will still be announced when your slide shows on the screen.

      Free Headshot Opportunities

      We are offering free opportunities to have your picture taken, which can be used for your Virtual Commencement Ceremony personalized slide.

      This is an opportunity to celebrate your achievements, express yourself, and have a professional photographer capture your image. Each graduate will receive the digital download information to access about five photos each. Although we will not have gowns available for the pictures, we will have caps, tassels, and stoles that you can use in your photo.

      These headshots will take place at the Journal Square Campus, Library Building. The days, times, and link to make an appointment will be shared early next week.
         •   Monday 11/16 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
         •   Tuesday 11/17 1:00 to 4:00 pm
         •   Wednesday 11/18 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

      Slots are available in 15 minute increments. If interested and in need of a headshot/photo of yourself, please sign up for ONE timeslot at this link:

      Graduate Portraits

      Lors Photography will be at HCCC during the following dates to complete Graduate Portraits for all graduates.

      Portrait appointments will be offered on:
         •   Wednesday, December 16 from 2pm - 10pm at the Journal Square Campus, Library Building, 6th Floor Atrium, and
         •   Thursday, December 17 from 10am - 4pm at the North Hudson Campus, Multipurpose Room

      In the coming week, you will receive a link directly from Lors Photography with information to make an appointment.

      As part of this graduating class, HCCC will be taking $10 off all Graduate Portrait Packages!

      To ensure safety and sanitation, we ask that you show up ON TIME to your appointment, practice social distancing, and wear your mask during all interactions when you are not being photographed. You will be asked to bring your own cap and gown set for photos.

      #HCCCGradSalute is back! This spring, we featured almost 80 graduating students. Let’s do it again! We will be spotlighting our graduating students on our social media pages starting this month!
