LEARN AND EARN

Learn and Earn is a program open to students registered in the Disability Support Service Office. Learn & Earn is a one year, two semester program geared towards incoming freshmen who are interested in receiving supportive services while obtaining specialized training in vocational and social skills.

Our program offers two classes, a prevocational and an internet based course that prepares students for employment through development and improvement of vocational skills, including job hunting, interviewing, and self-advocating skills. Some of the topics covered in class are email etiquette, resume and cover letter writing. The second component of the program is the individual counseling sessions. Students meet with one of the two program counselors on a frequent or as needed basis. The program counselor is the student’s contact person for questions about the school and registration.

Members of the Learn & Earn program truly excel in school and in the job market! Students may leave with either internship or job experience, and better grades. Past members reported that Learn & Earn helped them navigate through their college experience. If you are interested in partaking in the Learn & Earn program at Hudson County Community College please call the Learn & Earn Office at (201) 360- 4230 or (201) 360- 4231.
