Student Success Week
Every semester the Center for Academic and Student Success and the Office of Student Activities co-sponsor an event called Student Success Week.  Student Success Week is an opportunity for students and college community members to learn about all the wonderful resources and services that are available to support our students and the college community!   The week is jam-packed with important information, fun events and great giveaways!  It gives students an outlet for their stress, provides answers to many of their questions and it is a wonderful opportunity to meet the new and familiar faces of our students at HCCC. Many of the activities throughout the week take place in the Student Lounge.

Career Fair
Each Fall and Spring, employers from New Jersey and New York come to campus to meet with HCCC students.  Here, students can apply for positions or simply speak to the recruiter about their company and the types of jobs available for them.  The Fair helps focus students on future careers and provides experience in resume development and interviewing skills. Fall 2009 Career Fair date will be announced soon.

College Fair
Each Fall and Spring, colleges and universities from New Jersey and surrounding states come to HCCC to let students know about their college and the programs they offer.  Here, students can pick up brochures and course information that will help them choose the school where they want to transfer.  Participating colleges range from small liberal arts schools to large state universities.

Instant Decision Days
During the last few semesters at HCCC, students have the ability to meet with college admissions representatives regarding transfer to their college or university. Once the student completes the application and presents an official transcript, the student will meet with the college admissions representative who informs the student on the spot, whether or not they are accepted to the college or university.  This process saves the student much anxiety and money as the application fee is waived.

What Every Nursing Major Should Know
This workshop is presented each semester and is open to all students currently registered as Cooperative Nursing majors, Practical Nursing majors, and students considering the Nursing career. This event is a great opportunity for students to ask questions regarding the field of nursing from seasoned professionals, current students of nursing programs, and recent graduates of the Nursing Program at Hudson County Community College. “What Every Nursing Major Should Know” is sponsored by the Center for Academic & Student Success, and the Health Related Programs.
