College Closing

Please be advised that Hudson County Community College will close at 12:00 p.m. today, Monday, January 26, 2015 and remain closed through Tuesday, January 27, 2015, due to inclement weather. All day and evening classes have been canceled. The College anticipates to reopen on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, operating on a normal schedule.  The College will notify the community by 10 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 if there are any further announcements.
Registration will be extended to Friday, January 30, 2015.  Add/Drop period will be extended to Friday, February 6, 2015.

Hudson County Community College Announces Plans for 2014 Commencement Exercises

College’s 36th Annual ceremonies slated for May 22nd; Dr. Rod A. Risley
will deliver the keynote address; Hudson County Executive Thomas A. DeGise to
receive the 2014 Heritage Award.

April 16, 2014, Jersey City, NJ – On Thursday evening, May 22, 2014, over 925 students will walk across the stage at New Jersey performing Art Center’s Prudential Hall as part of Hudson County Community College’s 36th Annual Commencement ceremonies. The event will begin at 6:00 that evening.   

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) President Dr. Glen Gabert announced that the keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Rod A. Risley, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Phi Theta Kappa, the largest honor society in higher education. Phi Theta Kappa has more than 1,280 chapters in the United States, U.S. territories and in eight sovereign nations, and inducts more than 135,000 students each year. Hudson County Community College’s Beta Alpha Phi chapter now includes 450 members.

The Hudson County Community Heritage Award recognizes members of the community who have made significant contributions to the College, its students and families. This year’s award will be presented to Hudson County Executive Thomas A. DeGise, who has been one of the College’s strongest supporters over the years, and who assisted the College in its expansion efforts. (Mr. DeGise’s daughter is also a graduate of Hudson County Community College.)
