President, HCCC Student Government Association (SGA)
Born in Manhattan, Angel moved to Jersey City at the age of three and was raised solely by his grandmother.
After graduating from Jersey City Public Schools’ Martin Luther King, Jr. School, he attended Lincoln High School. While there, he was involved in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program, and participated in sports as a member of the track and soccer teams. He was also a member of the Gentleman’s Club and the Kiwanis International High School Key Club (a student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership), and Family Career and Community Leaders of America (a national student organization whose members work to make a difference in their communities).
Angel’s passion for food and business also propelled him into Culinary Arts studies in high school. He is now preparing for a career in Hospitality and Restaurant Management at HCCC, and was awarded a silver medal in a culinary bread competition.
During his first semester at HCCC, he became a Freshman Senator of SGA and regional representative for the Alliance of Educational Opportunity Fund Students of New Jersey. He is now the President of SGA.
