  • Welcome to the HCCC Center for Academic & Student Success Writing Center

The ability to write well is key to communicating in all areas of your life. Being able to write well will not only improve your ability to succeed in your studies, it will also serve you well in your career and other aspects of your life.

The Writing Center at Hudson County Community College provides free small-group or one-on-one tutoring sessions led by trained mentors for all College courses that require writing assignments. The sessions are held in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of our Writing Center, which includes a computer laboratory with the latest word-processing and interactive software as well as a collection of reference materials. The sessions emphasize self-directed learning strategies and are structured to help you to organize your thoughts, develop the content of your writing assignments, identify your writing strengths and weaknesses, and recognize and overcome grammatical errors.

To arrange for help with your writing, go to the Writing Center on the Journal Square and North Hudson Higher Education Center campuses. Fill out the Writing Center Registration form (also available here) and present it to a member of the Writing Center staff.
