Position Summary / Job Description

The Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is an exciting and entrepreneurial office within the College, which offers a wide variety of non-credit classes, courses, seminars and training sessions for the community. These offerings are focused on revitalizing careers, upgrading skills and credentials, growing businesses and pursuing pastimes and passions. Additionally, the HCCC Center for Business & Industry (CBI) is the area leader in developing and delivering educational classes and programs for Hudson County’s businesses, organizations and individuals. Reporting directly to the Director of Workforce Pathways, the Job Developer supports Career-Advance USA participants and apprentices in job searching and placement. This is a full- time grant-funded position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Understands the advanced manufacturing sector and employer needs in Hudson County and surrounding area and works with Apprenticeship Coordinator to translate needs into educational services.
  • Identify key staff in advanced manufacturing businesses and cultivate relationships.
  • Enlist the participation of advanced manufacturing employees and assist in connecting employer needs with programs offered.
  • Assist Apprenticeship Coordinator in recruiting, selecting, and enrolling eligible participants for the Career Advance USA apprenticeship programs.
  • Become an advanced manufacturing subject matter expert and stay up to date on industry news.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Participate in all aspects of evaluation.
  • Perform other related duties as delegated or assigned by the CEWD Director.

 

Required / Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum associates degree plus three years of experience in job development. Bachelors preferred.
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Candidate must demonstrate outstanding organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • This position requires some travel throughout Hudson County and the surrounding areas.
  • Proficiency with various computer software programs including Microsoft Office suite including Excel, and experience with Ellucian (formerly Datatel) Colleague or similar higher education platform preferred.
