I've been given the opportunity to work with the Financial Aid Department. This opportunity has been enjoyable, as well as educational. Nothing helps prepare you for your future more than experience as a federal work-study student.

Federal Work-Study (FWS) provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. Students who participate in the Federal Work Study Program:

  • Gain employment and work experience.
  • Enhance job skills.
  • Develop career contacts.
  • Earn extra money.

Student Employment

Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a need-based work program designed to assist students in meeting their financial obligations while attending school. As eligibility for these positions is dependent upon "need," students must complete the financial aid process before eligibility for FWS can be determined. If you have not yet completed the FAFSA, you may apply online here.

FWS is available for enrolled students during the academic year. For opening of FWS applications, look for information on the myhudson portal, emails, and flyers.
