The Liberal and Visual Arts Meta Major encompasses a number of disciplines including Studio Arts, Computer and Digital Arts, Liberal Arts, English, Literature, Humanities, Modern Languages, Speech, Communications, and the Theatre Arts. Within our options of study we offer both Associates of Arts (AA) and Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree programs which are transferable to four-year institutions. Additionally we offer certificate programs that are geared toward employment in the field. All program degrees and certificates require students to take courses that are specific to the disciplines and general education courses. A combination of these requirements is designed to prepare students to be proficient in their field of study and also be an engaged participant and well-rounded citizen.
Our mission is to offer interdisciplinary courses and degree-granting programs which foster critical and innovative thinking skills. Students are provided opportunities to participate in civic activities and are encouraged to see themselves as not only emerging artists and writers, but fully engaged members of the community.
