Microsoft Word is designed to help you move smoothly through the task of creating professional-looking documents. Its rich features and powerful tools make your work easy and even fun. In this course, you will learn how to use Word to create and edit simple documents, format documents; add tables and lists; add design elements and layout options, and proof documents. During the second half of the class, you learn to create complex and professional documents with a consistent look and feel. Implementing time-saving features such as document templates and automated mailings helps your organization reduce expenses. Mastering these techniques will make you a valued employee in your organization.
This course is intended for students who want to learn Basic to Intermediate Microsoft Word skills, such as creating, editing, formatting documents, modifying complex documents, and using tools that allow you to customize those documents.
Students should be familiar with using personal computers and experience using a keyboard and mouse to ensure success. Students should also be comfortable working in the Windows environment. No prior experience with Microsoft Word is necessary.

Microsoft Word enables you to do far more than simple word processing. Word Level III will cover advanced image manipulation tools, collaboration features, cross-referencing and linking tools, entry forms and data collection, security features, and tools to automate document production. This course is intended for students who already have an intermediate understanding of Word and want to use more advanced functionalities.
Throughout the course, we will be using the textbook Microsoft Office Word 2019: Part III, which is an excellent resource for you to follow along with the instructor. The book is divided into lessons and topics, covering a subject or set of related subjects. Included with the textbook are data files that you will use throughout the course to practice your skills and assessments to reinforce the lessons. The book is moderately priced and sold separately.
