Maria Lita Sarmiento

Ms. Maria attends to students who have graduated from HCCC and provides them with counseling, career search, resume review, job leads, and professional development. She also conducts workshops and events that support the CEWD engagement activities for students and alumni. One of her greatest pleasures is when she places students in the field that they desire.

Ms. Maria belongs to a big family of 10 children. With hard work and perseverance to better her future and her family, she never stopped pursuing her education and professional development. She found teaching to be a very rewarding job and she has been teaching for over 40 years now. During her first year working as Alumni Manager, she earned the 2021 Recognition Award for New Members. Ms. Maria is passionate about her role as a mentor and educator, because she truly believes that "it takes a village to raise a child."
