Gateway to Innovation

About the Gateway to Innovation Program

Hudson County Community College’s Gateway to Innovation program is addressing the unprecedented systemic challenges to the workforce ecosystem exacerbated by the pandemic. This comprehensive program is focused on students and alumni, employers, and community members with the goal of providing basic support, skills training, experiential learning, and connection to employment. The program components are:

Stabilize basic supports for students by enhancing financial health and access to benefits, tax assistance and financial counseling.

Engage alumni and expedite the connection to recession-resistant work by augmenting career services with curated jobs, career assessments, and career development workshops.

Recover by promoting short term recession resistant workforce training to unemployed residents and those in low wage jobs in communities of color.  Workforce training is available in healthcare, finance, and technology resulting in industry recognized credentials at no-cost to students.

Prosper by deepening engagement with employers through an active and engaged Employer Advisory Board positioning HCCC and the community to thrive. The focus is on aligning training and education with in-demand skills and providing experiential learning opportunities for students in the finance and IT career pathways.
