Professor Buckley was awarded tenure at HCCC in June 2020. She has been at the college since 2009, beginning her work in Academic Foundations English and then expanding into other areas such as English Composition, Creative Writing and Intro to Cultural Studies. She enjoys arguing, literature and pop culture, all of which fit nicely into her teaching.

Professor Buckley’s MFA from The New School has been most useful in teaching storytelling and non-fiction writing, which helps her students publish in the school literary journal, Crossroads. Her last publication, "Netflix Obsessed," appeared in the October 2019 issue of 34th Parallel Magazine, an outlet that strives to be the Rolling Stone of literature. Some of her other work can be found online at Yahoo, Eclectica, and Ravishly.

Outside of teaching and writing, Professor Buckley has served on HCCC Development and Planning, Student Affairs, The Tenure Review Board, and various screening and scoring committees. She is also the English/Reading 072 Level Coordinator. In her free time, she works with Professor Lai to help members of the College’s chapter of PTK, Beta Alpha Phi, with their scholarship applications and essays.
