Professor Foda-Kahouo spent more than a decade at HCCC as a student and a member of the Security Department and Foundation Mathematics Department staff. He has been an instructor since 2017. Professor Foda-Kahouo believes that, besides being a vocation, teaching is an art that requires creativity, patience, resilience, and a strong desire to improve and learn every day. As one of the newest full-time faculty members in the School of STEM, Professor Foda-Kahouo states that the continuous mentorship of his peers facilitates his personal and professional growth. He aims to reach higher goals for the College community and help HCCC students dream bigger and succeed academically and professionally. He has a Bachelor of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Master of Engineering, also from Stevens Institute of Technology.

“Hudson is Home! Hudson is a family! My journey began in 2006 as a Cleaning Escort and continued as a Security Guard in
2008. I became a student at Hudson County Community College in 2009 and proudly graduated
in 2011, later earning a Bachelor of Engineering in 2014 and a Master’s of Engineering in 2016 at Steven’s Institute of Technology. I returned to Hudson as an Adjunct Professor of Physics in 2017, became a Full-Time
Instructor of Mathematics in 2019, served as NJB2B Coordinator in 2020, and in 2022
was appointed Assistant Professor of Mathematics—reflecting a career rooted in growth,
dedication, and service to the institution that shaped me.”

you find most helpful?
Counseling was the most helpful support service.
Were you involved in any student organizations, clubs, or leadership roles?
I was involved in the Science Club.
What were the biggest challenges you faced during your time at community college?
Working two jobs, married with two sons, I was also a full-time student working hard to keep a high GPA.
What influenced your decision to attend community college?
Affordability and flexibility of programs, added to the closed relationship between the college and students.
What was the social experience like—did you feel a sense of community?
HCCC became my second village, where every member became part of my family. Every issue was always taken seriously and resolved with the care it deserved.
