Hudson County Community College Offers Online Sessions for Holistic Wellness and Professional Growth

July 7, 2020, Jersey City, NJ – The Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Division of Continuing Education & Workforce Development is presenting a series of online non-credit classes on holistic wellness and professional growth. The HCCC “Summer Self-Care” series provides avenues to caring for mind and body.

 

Holistic wellness and professional growth

 

“Introduction to Holistic Wellness” offers an overview of therapies including mind-body medicine, nutritional medicine, and Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. Students will learn the function of each therapy and be able to construct a personal wellness plan. Saturdays, July 18 - August 8, 1 – 2 p.m.; $30.

“You and Your Energy” explores practices of Eastern and Western holistic energy therapies, from traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicines to visual and natural approaches. Sundays, July 19 - August 9, 1 – 2:30 p.m.; $30.

“Interpersonal Communication Skills: The Pathway to Self-Empowerment” explores the importance of building oral and written communication skills and assertive communication and listening skills. Mondays, July 20 – August 3, 6 – 8 p.m.; $99.

“Resiliency: Successfully Navigating the Waves of Change” teaches participants how to identify concepts of change concretely and provides tools for developing resiliency to manage daily challenges in today’s business culture. Mondays, July 22 – August 5; and August 17 – 31; 6 – 8 p.m.; $65.

“Self-Discovery and Personal Growth” will help participants learn to practice being calm in the face of adversity, identify strengths, and turn weaknesses into benefits. Fridays, July 24 – August 7, 6 – 8 p.m.; $45

“Power vs. Perception: Ten Characteristics of Self-Empowerment for Job Seekers” identifies the traits to navigate job transitioning effectively in today’s market and provides an overview of behaviors an effective job seeker should master. Wednesdays, August 12 – 26, 6 – 8 p.m.; $65.

“Professional Writing Skills: Self-Empowerment Through the Written Word” is designed to help participants become effective communicators in the business world by using interpersonal skills identified in the “Ten Critical Characteristics of Self-Empowerment.” Thursdays, August 6 – 20, 6 – 8 p.m.; $99.
