Known on campus as “Professor D,” Sharon Daughtry has been teaching at HCCC for more than 15 years. She has worked in private, public, and non-profit industries, and held positions ranging from Administrative Assistant to Assistant Divisional Vice-President.

Professor D believes in lifelong learning and is Faculty Advisor to the Business and Accounting Club.

Professor D has written grant proposals to help fund the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Bloomberg Finance Lab at HCCC, and assists HCCC students in becoming Bloomberg-certified. Professor D is a member of the Business, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Advisory Board and the Academic Support Services Advisory Board. She serves as Vice-Chair of the All College Council of HCCC, and is a member of HCCC President’s Advisory Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (PACDEI) and Achieving the Dream (ATD) Team.

Professor Daughtry’s awards include: NISOD Teaching Excellence Award; Susan G. Komen Volunteer of the Year Award; HCCC Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award of Recognition; Susan G. Komen Promise of One Award; and UBS Financial Services Global Employee Volunteer Award. She presented at NISOD 2020 Online Classified Staff Symposium, Community College Showcase at New Jersey City University, Association of College and University Educators Facilitator for Effective Teaching Practices at HCCC, and several Faculty and Staff Development Workshops.

Professor D is the Toastmasters International District 83, Division G Director, and served as Area Director and President of the HCCC Toastmasters Club. She holds membership with the National Black MBA Association, American Marketing Association, American Management Association, International Association of Women, and Professional Diversity Network.
