Biography
Carlos Serrano serves as Assistant Director of Nursing Programs in the School of Nursing and Health Professions at Hudson County Community College. In this role, he supports the administration and continued development of the College’s nursing programs, with a focus on academic operations, nursing education, faculty and student success, and the delivery of high-quality nursing education.
Carlos Serrano joined Hudson County Community College in August 2026 as Assistant Director of Nursing Programs in the School of Nursing and Health Professions. He is a pediatric nurse practitioner, Certified Nurse Educator, and experienced nursing faculty member whose career spans nursing education, academic leadership, clinical practice, healthcare simulation, and pediatric nursing. Before joining HCCC, Carlos held nursing faculty appointments at Passaic County Community College, Rutgers University School of Nursing, Suffolk County Community College, Helene Fuld College of Nursing, and Stony Brook University. His clinical and leadership experience includes pediatric primary care, acute and home care nursing, college health, clinical management, and healthcare simulation education. Carlos is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Nursing Education at the University of West Georgia. His professional interests include nursing education, student success, clinical judgment, simulation-based learning, faculty development, and advancing excellence and inclusivity within the nursing profession. In 2026, he was selected as an inaugural Fellow of the American Association for Men in Nursing, recognizing his contributions to nursing education, leadership, and the profession.
