May 27, 2026, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Assistant Professor of History Dr. Christopher Cody has been selected to participate in the 2026 Business-Higher Education Forum (BHEF) Faculty Innovation Fellowship. The competitive national program unites faculty leaders from across the United States to effect meaningful change in higher education.

Dr. Cody will join a cohort of 22 BHEF fellows with diverse disciplines from 20 colleges and universities across 15 states to develop capstone projects. Participants will learn to develop high-impact initiatives that strengthen student pathways and align academic programs with workforce needs. During the three-phase, in-depth program, the fellows will receive expert guidance, structured peer learning, and dedicated support to design, develop, and launch their projects. Fellows build leadership and change-management skills; forge new employer partnerships; and develop practices that extend beyond the classroom.

“We are very proud to see Dr. Cody recognized at the national level, and look forward to the impact this fellowship will have on our students and community,” said HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber. “From providing local color at the Hamilton-Burr duel site in Weehawken to guiding the HCCC History Club through the Holocaust Museum and the Special Collections at Princeton University’s McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning, Dr. Cody brings history to life. He encourages students to connect past to present through artifacts, critical thinking, and analysis.”

Christopher Cody is an exemplary educator and scholar, committed to student engagement, equity, and academic rigor. He joined HCCC in 2019 as an Adjunct Instructor. Dr. Cody received the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award, the League for Innovation Excellence Award, and Excellence in Teaching Award from the HCCC chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success. He served as the previous Chair of the All-College Council, leading initiatives that support student parents and academic integrity. He earned his Ph.D. from St. John’s University, Master of Arts from Northeastern University, and Bachelor of Arts from University of Vermont.

“The 2026 Faculty Innovation Fellows represent the best of higher education—faculty who are deeply committed to their students’ success as demand for both AI-fluency and real-world experience continue to grow,” said Kristen Fox, CEO of the Business-Higher Education Forum. “This cohort brings together leaders ready to connect the transformational power of a college experience to the workforce and ensure institutions are working with agility to prepare graduates for a rapidly evolving world of work. We are proud to support them and look forward to the impact of their work.”
