Hudson County Community College North Hudson Campus Associate Director Diana Galvez has been selected to participate in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Enlace Mid-level Leadership Program.

October 2, 2025, Jersey City, NJ – Whether she’s overseeing daily campus operations, guiding students in higher education, or coordinating College programs, Diana Galvez is a natural collaborator, influential leader, and dedicated administrator. The Associate Director of the Hudson County Community College (HCCC) North Hudson Campus (NHC) and Co-Chair of the President’s Advisory Council on Institutional Engagement and Excellence (PACE, Ms. Galvez has been selected to participate in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Enlace Mid-level Leadership Program.

The six-month Enlace program is designed to increase the number, variety and quality of talent in leadership positions at Hispanic-Serving Institutions and in higher education overall. Thirty-nine selectees will participate in a series of online meetings as well as the in-person sessions at HACU’s Annual Conference in Aurora, Colorado in November and at the National Capitol Forum in Washington, D.C. in April 2026. Sessions will explore academic and student affairs management, regional institutional accreditation, and higher education advocacy. The program concludes with a graduation ceremony. Capital One and the Mellon Foundation provided grant funding for select participants.

“Throughout her career, Diana Galvez has created a supportive environment, leading by example, collaborating, and fostering a team culture that benefits the entire HCCC family,” said HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber. “We are proud of Diana and her contributions to the College and community. We look forward to her continued growth as a leader through the Enlace program.”

Ms. Galvez began her career at HCCC seven years ago as a Student Development Associate, progressing to NHC Assistant Director, College Student Success Instructor, and NHC Associate Director. She leads student support initiatives, manages staff, oversees training and supervision of student workers, participates in recruitment and retention efforts, and organizes events and professional development experiences. A native of Dominican Republic, Ms. Galvez co-founded the La Hermanidad women’s affinity group and the Student Passport Program, organized a High School One-Stop Day event, serves as advisor to the Latin Society Club, and planner for the annual Empowerment Festival. She presented at the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE), HACU, the New Jersey City University (NJCU) Community College Showcase, and more.

Ms. Galvez holds an Associate of Arts degree in Sociology from HCCC and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from NJCU. She is pursuing her Master of Administrative Science degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her affiliations include Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, and Who’s Who Among Students in American Community Colleges.

Ms. Galvez believes that the most significant issue facing higher education professionals is ensuring equitable access. “Higher education offers more than degrees – it creates an environment for connection, imagination, and growth. It’s one of the only environments where an astrophysicist might share space with a first-generation immigrant who dreams of working for NASA,” she said.
