Biography

Matt LaBrake is the Assistant Vice President for Digital Learning, AI, and Emerging Technologies at Hudson County Community College, where he serves as Chief Online Learning Officer for Hudson Online and leads the Center for Online Learning team. A member of the President’s Cabinet, he provides strategic leadership for the College’s online learning ecosystem, institutional AI literacy efforts, and the adoption of emerging technologies that support teaching, learning, and operations. He has led sustained growth in Hudson Online, expanding the College’s portfolio of fully online programs and strengthening flexible pathways that have contributed to significant enrollment growth.

He chairs the Online Learning Advisory Council and co-chairs the Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Governance Council, guiding responsible and practical integration of AI across the institution. He supports faculty growth, strengthens course quality with an emphasis on equity and accessibility, and ensures a strong, sustainable technology foundation for online learning. Through data-informed strategy and cross-institutional collaboration, he has driven measurable improvements in student success in online and hybrid environments.

Matt is active in the national higher education community as a frequent presenter and volunteer, contributing to conversations on online learning, AI literacy, and digital strategy. In 2025, the HCCC Center for Online Learning team received the EDGE Digital Accessibility Award for advancing inclusive online education.
