Biography
Lucas works as an Academic Counselor for the Hudson Scholars Program
Lucas (he/him/él) is a queer, first generation, bilingual Colombian-American raised
in Paterson, NJ, now living in Central New Jersey. After beginning his studies in
Neuroscience at The University of Scranton, Lucas finished a bachelor's degree in
psychology at Montclair State University where he went on to earn his master's degree
in clinical Mental Health Counseling. Lucas is a Nationally Certified Counselor and
a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey and has worked extensively with LGBTQIA
clients. He is passionate about supporting the whole of the queer community, especially
Queer clients of color. In addition to providing therapy, Lucas works full-time at
Hudson County Community College as an academic counselor. Lucas is currently working
on a book about allyship for trans and gender diverse communities.
