Biography
Alexa works in the Mental Health Counseling and Wellness department, providing mental health services to students.
Alexa is a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey, having earned her Master’s in Social Work from New York University. Alexa has experience working with adolescents and adults dealing with various mental health diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, and trauma. She is a certified trainer in Mental Health First Aid and Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR). Additionally, Alexa specializes in supporting individuals through life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. With a compassionate and understanding approach, she strives to create a safe, non-judgmental space for her clients to explore their emotions and challenges. Alexa works with teens and adults using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy. She also has specialized training in working with new mothers. Alexa believes in meeting individuals where they are in their journey and is passionate about spreading mental health awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding it. She is dedicated to advocating for the importance of seeking help without shame and educating individuals to overcome mental health stigmas.
