Hudson County Community College Senior Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Dr. Lisa Dougherty has been named a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society Distinguished College Administrator. She will be recognized in March at the PTK Annual Convention in Baltimore, Maryland.
March 9, 2026, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Senior Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Dr. Lisa Dougherty has been named a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society Distinguished College Administrator. The prestigious award celebrates college leaders who go above and beyond in their commitment to student success. It is especially meaningful because the selection of Dr. Dougherty was advocated by HCCC PTK members, who are among the College’s highest achieving students.
The international honor society will recognize Dr. Dougherty and the other honorees at the PTK Annual Convention on March 27, 2026 in Baltimore, Maryland.
“From teaching College Student Success courses for freshmen, to helping students successfully navigate their academic journeys by developing initiatives that address basic needs, finances, mental health, tuition, and much more, Dr. Dougherty has earned the admiration and respect of our entire HCCC family,” said HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber. “She has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to student success by consistently engaging with student leaders and supporting initiatives that promote access, leadership, and completion.”
“Dr. Dougherty’s leadership reaches far beyond any one program,” said PTK President and CEO Lynn Tincher-Ladner. “Students recognize her because she consistently removes barriers, opens doors, and creates opportunities for success across Hudson’s entire campus.”
Throughout her tenure at HCCC, Dr. Dougherty has met regularly with student leaders, offered guidance, and assisted in cultivating a campus culture that enhances the student experience. She ensures availability to high-impact learning experiences and support services beyond the classroom so students from all backgrounds have opportunities to lead, learn, and complete their education.
Dr. Dougherty is a first-generation college graduate with more than 20 years’ experience in higher education. She received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Rowan University; Master of Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management; and Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University, Maryland.
Dr. Dougherty joined HCCC in 2016 as Dean of Enrollment Services and has led Student Affairs and Enrollment since February 2019. She participated in the 2019-2020 Aspen Institute College Excellence Program Rising Presidents Fellowship.
