Patient Access Representative (PAR) Program

 

About This Class

The Patient Access Representative (PAR) program will provide participants with the foundational understanding of the healthcare delivery system, the role of the PAR and the tools needed to provide exceptional customer service. This course is intended to prepare PAR’s as a frontline customer service agent in a medical office or hospital setting. Five modules are tailored to the entry-level healthcare professional and is intended for individuals who wish to pursue a career in a healthcare setting. The PAR program is nationally accredited by the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM). Participants who complete the program are eligible for the NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) credential exam.

Preparation 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  
  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or Work Authorization Visa with valid social security number 
  • 9th Grade Proficiency on the TABE Test, students currently enrolled in HCCC are exempt (G.P.A 2.0) 
  • Must be at least 18 years old 
  • High school Diploma or Equivalent  
  • Submission of a criminal background check and fingerprinting prior to certification 
  • Available to start working upon program completion
