Jersey City is known for its diversity and it shows at HCCC. It’s a great opportunity to meet so many people from all over. Also, what made my experience memorable is taking ECE classes with really great professors. They are filled with so much knowledge which makes it even more enjoyable!

I remember before starting my Junior Practicum, I was having second thoughts about teaching. I wasn’t too sure if that’s what I wanted to do anymore until I stepped foot inside a classroom of 3 and a half-year-olds. All of them just looking at me at first and then speaking to me as if they have known me for years. When I was allowed to teach them a lesson and completed it, that’s when I knew I was right where I belonged. I have been teaching for 8 years now and I still love it just like I did that day during my Junior Practicum. I have taught Kindergarten for one year, PreK4 for 2 years, and currently teaching PreK3 (Abbott program) for 4 years. My goal is to return to school to receive my Master of Arts in Urban Education with a specialization in Educational Administration and Supervision.
