Spotlight on Students and Alumni

Our EET students and alumni are enthusiastic about their experiences at HCCC. Continue reading to see what one of them has to say.
Hector Roman
I was troubled by how affordable and accessible a college would be for someone from a low-income family and just starting a part-time job. It wasn't until I enrolled at HCCC that I realized my dream of becoming a professional Electrical Engineer was closer than what I imagined.
Hector Roman
Electronics Engineering Technology AAS Graduate, 2021

Roman believes that his EET classes at HCCC, specifically Electrical Circuits I provided him with the knowledge of important concepts and hands-on lab experience to be successful at a four-year university and in his future career. He strongly recommends this program to anyone looking to join the workforce after graduating or to continue their education at a 4-year college.

Additional Program Information

Upon successful completion of the Electronics Engineering Technology program requirements, students will be able to:

  1. Apply principles of DC and AC circuits, analog and digital electronics, microcontroller fundamentals and circuit assembly for analysis, basic design, circuit simulation, problem solving, assembly, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic system.
  2. Analyze and interpret technical data.
  3. Use mathematics to solve problems in electronics.
  4. Conduct standard tests and measurements.
  5. Conduct, analyze and interpret experiments.
  6. Solder and assemble circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  7. Simulate electronic circuits.
  8. Work effectively in a team environment.

Labs can be performed from any computer, any place and at any time via Online SPICE Simulation from Multisim. Labs prepare students for professional certifications and industrial requirements. Examples of EET labs:

  • Series and Parallel Resonance
  • Transistors Configurations
  • Small-Signal Amplifiers
  • Frequency Response of a Transistor Amplifiers
  • Operational Amplifiers
  • Linear IC Amplifiers
  • Active Diode Circuits and Comparators
  • Configure Microcontroller Input/Output Ports to interface LED, Seven-segment displays and dip switches
