The Nursing Program includes a theoretical base of general education and science courses together with a range of nursing theory and diverse practical course work designed to prepare graduates to be eligible for the state licensure examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and to prepare students for 21st century nursing practice. This program can be completed in the Day, Evening or Weekend course of study. Many nursing resources are available and a supportive framework has been developed to be engaging and to assist students to accomplish their goal of becoming an RN.
Graduates of the Nursing Program must pass the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses in order to practice nursing. Students who successfully complete this program will be awarded an Associate in Science Degree, Nursing from Hudson County Community College. Graduates of this Program may enter into a variety of upper division Nursing programs through the many articulation agreements in place at four-year institutions.

Community College, is committed to provide effective, quality nursing education to

Hudson County Community College Nursing program has offered a unique learning experience. The instructors have helped me develop as a person and prepare to be an exceptional nurse. My two years at this program have taught me to cultivate good learning habits and skills to continue to use for my future education.
I would not be a nurse today if it wasn't for the weekend nursing program at Hudson County Community College. The professors are responsive, caring, and supportive. The clinical portion exposes you to a variety of different patient populations that foster an exceptional learner experience for what you need to be successful in the field.
The Hudson County Community College Nursing Program meets the state education requirements for a Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey. Hudson County Community College has not determined if the Associate Degree program at the college meets the state requirements in any other state, any US territory or the District of Columbia.
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has resources that may be helpful.
In order for safe nursing practice to occur and for students to be qualified to participate in and complete the program a nursing student must be able to perform these essential functions. The complete list of Functional Requirements is listed in the Nursing Program Information book.
All Applicants are required to take and pass one of these entrance exams. Applicants must achieve an acceptable score on one of these exams for admission consideration. Details can be found in Nursing Information Book.
